PTSD Treatment Trauma-Informed Care That Works

What you went through was real, and so is the way it is affecting you now. PTSD is not weakness and it is not permanent. It is the brain holding onto a protective response it no longer needs. Turnwell's clinical team offers trauma-informed psychiatric care including EMDR, CPT, medication management, and IV ketamine at our Tampa Bay location for PTSD that has not responded to prior treatment. Tricare accepted at all four locations.

PTSD Is a Brain Injury. The Right Treatment Can Help It Heal.
Post-traumatic stress disorder develops in some people following exposure to actual or threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violence. PTSD is not a sign of weakness. It is a biological response to overwhelming experience: the brain's threat-detection system becomes dysregulated in ways that persist long after the danger has passed.
Symptoms fall into four clusters: intrusion (flashbacks, nightmares), avoidance (avoiding trauma reminders), negative cognitions and mood (distorted beliefs, emotional numbness), and hyperarousal (hypervigilance, sleep disturbance, irritability). Effective treatment targets these clusters systematically.
EMDR therapy, CPT, and medication management are the evidence-based first-line treatments for PTSD, endorsed by the WHO, VA, and APA. For veterans with treatment-resistant PTSD, IV ketamine is also available at Turnwell of Tampa Bay. Tricare accepted at all four locations.
